Joseph P. Hildebrandt
Joseph P. Hildebrandt brings 30 years of extensive experience
in business law, finance, securities and venture capital
to the Phenomenelle Angels Fund. He is a former Partner at
Foley & Lardner, LLP, was founder and chair of the Emerging
Companies/Venture Capital Team and was a member of the firm's
Private Equity & Venture Capital (which he founded and
co-chaired), Transactional & Securities, and Emerging
Technologies Practices. In addition to general corporate
clients, he represented and counseled new businesses and
developing companies, including high technology, biotechnology,
and other rapid growth companies in matters of structuring,
strategy and venture capital financing. Since participating
in the opening of Foley & Lardner LLP's Madison office
in 1976, Joe has represented clients in over 350 private
placement offerings. Outside of his legal practice, Joe has
personally invested in over 50 private companies, has been
a vice president of a small investment brokerage firm, manager
or co-manager of several small venture capital funds or partnerships,
and active in the venture capital community for over 30 years.
Joe has served by appointment on several Wisconsin Securities
Commissioner's committees and as chairman of the Wisconsin
Secretary of State Improvement Committee and has participated
in drafting Wisconsin legislation for partnership, corporation,
LLC, tax credit and securities laws. He was co-organizer
of the Governor's Summit on Venture Capital, co-organizer
and president of the Wisconsin World Trade Center-Madison,
Inc., and co-organizer, officer and director of Downtown
Madison Partners, Inc., and The Boys and Girls Club of Dane
County, Inc. He also has been active as president or chairman
of the Madison Repertory Theater, the Red Triangles Foundation,
Wisconsin Harvest, Inc., and Invest Wisconsin, Inc. Joe was
awarded the national Lynford Lardner Community Service Award,
the Madison Catholic Women's Club Christian Achievement Award,
and the Madison Community Foundation Individual Excellence
Award. Included in Who's Who in American Law, Joe has received
the highest performance rating in the Martindale-Hubbell
national directory of attorneys and was selected to be listed
in The Best Lawyers in America® for the last 10 years.
Joe earned a BS in Finance, Investment and Banking, and his
MBA from the University of Wisconsin - Madison. Joe received
his JD degree from Harvard Law School.
Joe serves on the Board of Michelle's Miracle and is a Board
Observer to TrafficCast International. In addition to his duties
as a co-Managing Director for Phenomenelle Angels Fund, Joe
is also Managing Director for the DaneVest Technology Fund. |
